Bell Designer Series - VIP 429 Interior Redesign

Project Overview

Bell's VIP 429 interior was reimagined to launch the Designer Series - a premium upgrade focused on elevated user experience, material refinement, and visual identity. In collaboration with the Interior Styling team, I contributed across early concept development, user research, prototyping, and later returned to support customer engagement tools through a structured CMF configuration experience.

The Challenge

How might we deliver a more refined, high-end interior experience for VIP customers while giving customers the flexibility to choose materials- without overwhelming them or overcomplicating production?

My Role

Early Phase (2021-Launch)

• Contributed concept sketching and CMF explorations

• Creating design documentation and visual assets for internal reviews

• Participated in mockup reviews and feedback sessions

• Coordinated visuals for stakeholder and executive alignment

Later Phase (Post Launch)

• Developed a structured material selection system for sales/ customer use

• Designed an interactive kiosk experience for HAI Heli-Expo 2023

• Helped lay the foundation for a future digital configurator experience

• Worked closely with marketing and digital teams to align interface and visual design

Outcome

• Bell 429 Designer Series officially launched March 2022 at HAI Heli-Expo to positive reception from customers and press

• Interactive kiosk helped streamline the selection process and influenced the direction of Bell’s long-term configurator tool

• Project showcased the value of thoughtful design systems within a highly engineered, regulated environment

• Interior Styling team was awarded the Bell Pioneer Award
